Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

Exxon, Chevron, Shell...

You name an O&G company, it's having layoffs. This is not a good time to be in this industry, that's for sure. But what's the alternative? Honestly? I'm open to suggestions...

I remember my first day at Cherry Point, back in 2003. One of the process supers, who was within a couple of years of retirement, gave us this song and dance about how oil was going to be around for a long, long time to come. How he'd have no problem having one of his kids - or grandkids - entering the industry. Even then you had the impression he was smoking something. But the industry that is built on dinosaurs is quickly becoming one itself...

Ok which one of you goofballs named a bunch of oilfield service companies??? They are lower in the food chain and they rely on BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, etc for contracts. If the majors don’t have work for employees, they don’t have work for the service companies either
