Thread regarding Ricoh layoffs

Does reorgs mean more cuts?

Knowing the company will restructure into 5 business units, does that basically mean we are looking at more layoffs? And are we safe until April or is that hoping for too much? I am leery of the future and am undecided on whether to continue my career within the company or head for the hills.

Here's facts. That's how I like to work and that's how most people should think about situations with Ricoh in general.

  1. Fact they are reducing the corporate North America HQ by 50%. Proof it was mentioned in one of the last videos as they become a digital company.
  1. Ricoh is selling off Techs/Machines? Research on Google and you will find out where Ricoh a year or two ago shut down two big plants in Japan. Not to mention they have sold off the Techs to third partys in Florida, Missisippi and other states. Ask around.
  1. Ricoh has never got rid of the machines, but moving to a digital company gives the IMPRESSION, machines are going to go bye-bye which in essence feels similar to the thought above.
  1. When Ricoh's new president took over they put X amount of millions of dollars away for mergers and acquistions. Since we know they won't be acquiring sh–...I would say it's a pretty safe bet that they will try to merge with another company after they have sold off the parts that aren't working AKA TECHS and MACHINES.
  1. Ricoh already had a year where they cut 401k contributes as well as reduced the yearly increases to 1%. Expect to see more BS like this happen again.

If these aren't enough reason to GTFO then I don't know what is. Either way I won't be here much longer so I feel pretty happy with the idea that I won't be working for Ricoh

Would you invest a substantial portion of your life savings in this company? Obviously No. Then why would you invest a substantial amount of your life working here? If time is money...

I don’t know if you’ve looked at the other threads here but I would run as far away as possible. I would say they are planning more layoffs or selling off the underperforming units.
There’s another thread on here about Ricohs financial loss. They seem to me anymore to be quick to get rid of people to secure the bottom line. Just remember, you are nothing to them.
