Thread regarding Frontier Communications Corp. layoffs

All Frontier knows how to do is kick the can on down the road

Until they are held to the fire they will hide behind their lawyers and refuse to reinvest in West Virginia. The outside plant is falling apart because management refuses to implement any kind of service improvement plan at all. What technicians left are made to run and put out the biggest “fires” so the PSC doesn’t have to get involved. Micromanagement has k–led this company from the get go! C-ap rolls downhill and the outside techs are at the bottom. Not enough techs to maintain everyday functions much less have time to improve plant. Morale has been at an all time low because no relief or help available. Just miserable!

Well said, @4erc+17HHZHun.

Obama/Maggie/VZ sham. The sale should have never been approved by the Obama FCC.

They did you a favor if they wouldnt let you transfer. Decisions like that are not randomly made to save a few bucks either, it was an informed decision with data to back it up based on productivity and cost/benefits. Sad you have to leave on those terms, but the company is not worth sticking around for in another department, use the departure as motivation to build your retirement fund and end on a strong note.

Tier II switching in India is horrible. To be fair, so was the American tier III transport garbage bag I asked to help us out in a piece of equipment. He refused and left the call. We had to call the equipment vendor.

whats even more sad.... 102 of us engineers out of translations got riff'd when they outsourced our jobs to Chennai India... FTR would not let us try to move to other groups that could have used our experience... I worked OSP for many years before I went into management.... Nope... I tried to apply to other departments but was removed from consideration... So after 25 years from GTE to VZ and finally FTR I had to say goodbye to Telecom....
