Thread regarding Fry's Electronics layoffs

Stop with all the doom and gloom

Fry's Electronics has survived worse. Mark my words, we'll be back. Maybe not bigger and better than ever, but we'll be back. It's like some people here are hoping to see the company fail. What do you get out of that? You should be cheering us on, not putting us down...

The funny thing is when they shut a store down, there is no notice to the employees they claim to care for. Ken Lutz simply shows up, padlocks the door so to speak, and sends the staff of two dozen or so employees to another neighboring store. They did this in Georgia, in Sacramento, in SoCal, and now in Campbell. Wonder when they will start this in Texas because they seem to target their multi-store markets first. In this manner, they can still claim that they have never laid off employees, since they can just go work at a close-by store. Eight years ago each store had about 250 employees, three years ago that number was easily cut in half, nowadays its down to 25 or less per location. Fry's isn't coming back, start posting your resumes on Monster and Indeed, otherwise OP, you might show up to work one day and find Ken waiting with a padlock.

The owners have no intention of fixing the company. You are literally rooting on two guys that went consignment model to mitigate loss while running barebones crew until they can sale off the property.

Campbell store just shut down no explanation. Another one bites the dust. Merch gets funneled to the next store, people lose their jobs finding out when they show up to work. You rooting this behavior on?
