Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Sears in MD closing.

Finally! I feel like an Alcoholic who was stuck in a dry country like Saudi Arabia, who just got a first class ticket to Open Bar Night in Las Vegas! I was going through closing withdrawal. Sears in Glen Burnie MD is closing. About TIME. Now let's get the other ones out too. Here's the link, whoever the list guy is for Sears, please look into this:

The joke is on you, buddy. Sears stores are never really “closed,” Sears is just following customers to the online channel.

No need for a retail store when you can get unbeatable Sears quality, value and service everyday at Sears.com and through the award-winning Sears mobile app.

Get with the 21st century!

Thanks for explaining that. Is there is a list of which stores are A or B?

A B store is a smaller full line store, did not do the volume of larger A stores. Usually didn’t have as broad a selection of merchandise as the A stores. Although that wasn’t always true. When I was a QMT I had 2 B stores and 1 A store. One of the B stores had a larger variety of name brand power tools.

I think there will be much more than just 6. And yes, including some Kmarts too. Stay tuned, be patient. Also it's White Plains not Planes.

And can someone explain to us non-Sears people what a "B" store is? How many such categorizations are there and what do they mean, specifically?

What’s so special about Newburgh, NY?

If Sears White Plains closes that will leave one store in New York State north of the city, a B store, Newburgh.

Only 6? Bummer, I was hoping for all of them, or at least half of them in this round. Six is very weak. They need to step it up. And those are all Sears, how about we get some Kmarts as well? Let's at least eliminate the stateside Kmarts, they can keep the exotic ones in Guam/USVI etc., for novelty I guess.

There are about 90 combined full line stores left right? Take that down to 40 or less. Step it up!

@mor - Because of Covid-19. That's the lame excuse Transformco now uses as cover for every failure on its part.
