A product that gives more value to customer?
How many prohects that were started in the last 5 years are sc-apped? 100%. Every single penny that our C*Os took in the name of strategy and innovation added zero value to the company in the last 5 years.

Lipstick on a pig.
LOL on this list of new projects. You know what are the reasons they failed (not the evil new CEO):
- Listener - c-ap. re-invention of Kafka
- MLE - c-ap. slow. poorly developed c-ap
- Appcenter - old one was good. but not that new c-ap
- Stacki - WTF is that?
- Kubekit - Ohhh, magnificent c-ap
So, I think that this was a good idea to clean up all this c-ap from TD product line.
Hey Teradata marketing, get your facts straight.
"Vantage is used for the most demanding production data and analytics applications in every major industry, and in the public and private sectors."
Really? Then why have so many adopters dropped it?
The core Teradata database is the only real product which they had since the 80-s and running it on top of faster Intel chips and disk every 3-5 years was the main business proposition. Everything else they tried to launch either failed or was gravy at most. Rebranding the core product to Vantage was probably the most stupid idea of all.
What amazes me is the fact that they, by their own admission, have converted their customers to subscription. So how do they exceed expectations in earnings, other than signaling a number that is achievable. The market has the company already priced in which is why the stock didn't really move on the earnings announcement. Looking back, they continue to milk their existing customer base and to make numbers they are trimming costs including staff. Toxic environment compared to the history of Teradata, where skills, culture and subsequent results were valued. Good luck on this unfortunate sinking ship.....
The last reply was really fun. So can you tell how many projects were started in the last 5 years and how many of them are sacked and how how many of them are alive? Listener, MLE, Appcenter, Unity, Stacki, Kubekit ? Every penny spent on the humongous apps is down the drain. Except replatforming to cloud, Vantage is not an innovation. Lift and shift to cloud. Where do you smell innovation there?
Please name the products that were delivered to customers in the last 5 years and were not sc-apped last month?
Against Teradata’s history of innovation, everything else seems like child’s play. See how Teradata supports and evolves with your organization's needs today. What Teradata does, no other database cannot do. Teradata Vantage is used for the most demanding production data and analytics applications in every major industry, and in the public and private sectors.
If we do not count NPATH which is a game changer for all data teams, maybe we could at least mention the new logo we borrowed from Deloitte?
Not to mention hilarious AppCenter, serving container app for 1 user - enterprise ready. Siri, the guy in fancy shirts can comment
The last product presentation was hilarious. Looks like they have 5 slides which they keep showing in every all hands and nothing more to say. No mention of any specific area or target or product or goal. A 10000 foot overview of something in the future and add terms like vantage, analytics, cloud and customer randomly in the sentence. Any general article about analytics in cloud in google will have more information than the strategy they are presenting. Absolute BS.
Vantage = TD 16.20 + resurrected Aster technology called MLE (which most of customers that tried dumped).
"10 reasons why Aster must die" on yammer, ask Siri
Vantage has all the answers.
The last time was the late '70's, when they came up with the bynet. That is why they are currently bereft of revenue.
