Everyone was extremely excited to be closed on thanksgiving but of course there is always more to the story. My store is staying open for curbside and fulfillment shifts all day on thanksgiving. While hourly colleagues get premium and holiday pay, what do executives get? Store manager said I get to pick my Black Friday and Christmas Eve shift!!!

Executives you better use that "extra" day off for working Thanksgiving as soon as you can before they lay people off again after the holidays. They won't count that as PTO when they cut you. Trust me.....I lost all my 5 Executive holiday "my days" last year because they don't consider that PTO. Crooks....bad moral in this deceitful company. 28 year Executive when they cut me without notice. There is a way better life after Macys, they are good at brainwashing their loyal employees and abuse them. Im way more happier in my new job. Making more money, working way less hours. And....I'll be home for all the holidays this year without all that b—s— and pressure. Use those "extra days " they promise and get out as soon as you can!
Executives get another day off for the holiday, to be taken within 60 days. You are being compensated for working ng Thanksgiving.
If you want the money, and have nothing else to do..... go for it.
I Agree. Macy’s brainwashed you into giving over your soul to this dying , Deceitful company. Let crooks sink with out you on board. ! There is no future for any level at Macy’s. ! Your wasting yourself here . Soon as you leave there is some s—er right behind you. Cut yourself from this Corrupt company ! You’re mental health depends on it !
I left in January after several years for a completely different job. I told all my former coworkers this year there was prob more to it and to not get excited when they said they were closing for thanksgiving. This proves what i was thinking. Please look for other jobs out of retail. There is a better life. For the first time in 7 years, i will be off thanksgiving and Black Friday because our office is closed for both days. I will actually have a full 4 day holiday weekend. We will have to hustle m-w, but it’s worth it. And they are paying us for both days off without using PTO. Guys, there is life after Macy’s. Just start looking now. Even though many places have hiring freezes, they are posting and collecting resumes to narrow down the best candidates so they can dive in to interview and hire once things are back to normal. Starting now is key.
