Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

What was the point of the last round of layoffs?

I mean seriously. Did laying off all those workers have any impact on the financial stability of the company in the future? My guess is…NO. Has this actually worked for ANY company? I’d say it only worked for the upper management and above. I feel sorry for those that were let go, and I feel sorry for those of us that remain. We are just a number to them that’s all.

Layoffs are to get rid of ground and hire people at senior management.

People leave but the buddies they bring stay back to fire competent people to save their asses. Scott left but all his CISCO buddies are still around teaching how to sell TD with no back ground in analytics or software selling.

How are current layoff improving cost scenario with all firing happening at lowest level. And without making any effort to reduce the middle management layers which is like 5-6 levels between CEO and consultant.
