No more than 6-10% pre tax. It was a bad joke.

I got almost 40% from 27 to 28. But was a tad underpaid at my 27 level

Mine was 23% from 27 to 28.
Then 29% from 28 to 29.

I have been offered a 4% from a 26 - 27 and again 4% from 27 - 28. These were within the same department.

I was then offered a 10% from a 28 - 29. I asked for more, but was told this was not done. I know it is done and I was underpaid. However, I took it.

I have known people to get WAY above like 25-30% moving from a 28 - 29 or 29 - 30. It’s all about timing and how much your manager will fight for you.

It is usually 10 to 15% unless you were very underpaid prior but that is rare. HR will limit you and everything has to be approved and in budget. Grade level lateral moves pretty much never have an increase. HR will not allow due to competing for talent or something. So in other words not much.

No more than 10%.

I’m a GL 28 who’s hired GL 25-27. With laterals—even if it’s a completely different department (Ex: UHG employee moving to Optum) with a different budget, there’s usually 0% salary change even if the hiring team is able/willing to pay more.

Generally it is lateral move unless you are low on current pay grade. Pay grade chart is on Hub for comparision.

I would say on the low end, 5%. On the high end, 25-30%.

I’ve personally tried to keep it in the 10-20% range, but have gone outside that when folks have had unusually high or low salaries for their prior grade level.

Other thing to keep in mind is the RRP target goes up by grade level.

Experience - I’ve been running teams at UHG for about 10 years.
