Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Last year promoted to Engineer, Rated 2 stating last year promotion.

Was promoted to Engineer (India) last year from Associate. Got 2 star this time, though fairly worked hard and did more than goals assigned.
Was told because got promotion last year. Would be rated 2. Is it acceptable ?

Shall I raise with HR ?

The changed to stacked ranking just like MS even though they knew it would disincentivized people and create negative competition between coworkers. Thank CL, DR, and PJ for those bad decisions years ago. The conversations over why these curved rankings are what they are were horrible. The pettiness of why people get downgraded or upgraded was beyond . People would get downgraded for a one time slip in what outfit they wore to work or having one awkward interaction with a superior because they were nervous just to fit the curve. Nothing to do with actual skill performance or professionalism .

Can rating be changed once its given. What are the steps.

You are expected to work at higher level now. 2 = doing your job at skill level. What was awesome last year at a lower level is expected standard at a higher level this year.

2018 promoted folks got default 3 upto senior engg level in 2019

Same here in San Diego. Who got promoted last year gets default 2 rating. thanks to stupid HR forcing bell curve
