Having employees stretched too thin doesn’t seem very good, maybe the safety department should investigate this.

I appreciate the efforts by the manager and his people. It’s great that he that his standing up for his group. However the bigger picture is more troublesome. He talks about employees like pieces of meat with fat to be trimmed off and disposed of. Imo this is the problem with all big companies including Williams. Employees are people and aren’t to be treated like meat. If there is excess supply how about moving them from group to group and retraining. Maybe if you did this your employees would be more loyal and experienced. You would not be short handed with inexperienced people making mistakes all the time, creating an overload situation. Imo this is not a good way run a company and Explains the marginal stock performance over many years. Good luck 🍀 and good night
It seems Like they have May have cut into the 🍖, that’s why you are so busy,
I do not think it is possible for us to lay-off 700 people. We have projects, cut tremendous amounts of cost, and saved tons of indirect expenses this year cutting down travel to the few projects that took place. If they do end up cutting people it is probably trimming the fat on departments that need to be trimmed back. I can not speak for everyone in Houston, but I know my department is stretched thin and we are all BUSY. Keep working hard and stay off websites like this and everything should be fine.
"Normal Williams way of doing it will be the older higher paid more experienced employees. Age discrimination again"
Not sure I agree with you on this. I was 56, had been with Williams 27 years and during any layoffs I never saw them target older employees. Granted the VSP they did a year ago only targeted 55 and above, but that was voluntary.
My issue with Williams was senior leadership, they make very poor investment decisions which then effect the bottom line which results in headcount reductions.
Seems they let about 700 go on Friday.
Agreed doubt they will cut 20% maybe in specific groups. Seems like they can’t get permits in northern states like NY, etc canceling projects
10% - I believe. 20% - hard to believe.
Hm stock price is under 20? Looking to pump price up again by layoffs all a smokescreen. Will check earnings report
Wow 😳, purge and replace again if true, that seems real high but you never know with Williams
Fake news if not provide link?
