Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

This was to be expected

With Exxon, Chevron and Shell having major layoffs - among many others - it was to be expected that we would follow suit. The downward spiral of O&G (with Covid-19 playing its part) has the majority of huge corporations implementing “cost effective” measures that benefit executive leadership and stockholders at our cost. SWN is no different. We are nothing but checks and balances.

So Montage folks joining our team? There’s not room for all of us. That means we’re going to have layoffs? I think leadership is playing a game of eenie, meenie, miney mo. Jeezum.

Based on the call this past Friday. We will have a final 2020 layoff. Par for 2020 with pandemic, poor performance and stock price in the gutter. Thanks for nada

Pretty cold of leadership during the company trick or treating extravaganza, to hand out “selective pink slips” instead of snickers, skittles or pixi sticks yesterday! What a bunch of cold hearted snobs.

As long as they don’t cut back on the egg frittata special and the John Wayne TP, all will be ok. Don’t lose faith. Even if they lay me off, I’ll still plan on eating breakfast at SWN.
