You should have seen when they asked for feedback on lockdown. Executives here were laughing at employees comments! But we do hire pretty interesting MPTs... so laughing at them is justifiable!
I didn't read it as a joke by the tone at all.
I assumed Ian was drawing on upstream experience with niche disciplines which may not be the company's focus area anymore .
If you're building a offshore platform in Sakhalin in the Arctic Circle you are going to need some iceberg experts (ocean engineers), but these folks are not really needed for Guyana or the Permian.

Staale did a great job. He's new to GSC, not sure where he came from, but he's hot. We just don't have handsome guys like that art XOM. He even writes us nice letters wishing us and our family well. I seriously like this guy. I don't even remember the name of the prior President.

Yikes but not surprised. Karen McKee’s presentation was of an appropriate tone and got straight to the point, which I think many people appreciated.
Didn't really see much humor in his presentation. At this point, it is what it is regardless. Time to focus on your next move.
Don't really care how it was communicated, I rather focus on the message and that is grim.
