Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Is One Intel possible?

The concept is simple, and the idea seems correct, but is one intel really achievable? The culture of toxic competition is very strong, and has a long engrained history. Can you really change organizations and people?

Sure, I think it's possible. You'd need to gut Insights to make it happen. Changing the name of Focal fixed absolutely nothing. Just proved HR is inept. But making the metrics match the behaviors you want (a novel idea at this company) could enable One Intel.

No. Some GLs and EMs fight sharing any information with other modules or automation. Secrecy is one way the incompetent protect themselves, and at least in D1 the management of several modules is deeply incompetent.

I don't see it failing at all. The Government (Trump not Biden) will step in and do whatever it has to do to keep the American Semiconductor powerhouse running. Not Samsung or TSMC.

It depends on the group; do people in groups that aren’t toxic ever worry about getting the wrong people? I just changed groups and can’t believe how different the culture is and how that affects productivity.

"Bain said that 'One Intel' is possible on their Powerpoint decks so it must be true. Those management consultants are always right, who am I to question them? Good thing we pay them millions of dollars to them to tell me how to do my job."

  • some Intel exec probably

Failure is not an option. we either change and adapt and work together better and faster or Intel (manufacturing) will get destroyed. It could already be too late.
