Why do adds keep blocking the end of every sentence? And there is no way to close them in order to read or even write a sentence. It is too much work to read this site.
There are two pieces of service GTS and GBS IBM has shown where the future of GTS is going (newco or as you said TCS or COG) IBM knows they have to dump at least 1/2 of GBS That’s where Wipro, or any of the other BPS providers come in. GBS is a much smaller bite vs GTS
Wipro, Infosys, and HCL aren't nearly big enough to buy GTS, they'd have to borrow 2X their annual revenue.
TCS is probably the only one that's big enough to pull it off. Maybe Cognizant.
The Indian body shops truly want to acquire the GTS business. GBS too! It’s all about cost of bodies and the Indian shops know how to cut costs. IBM is signaling they want to partner via being the discovery/marketing arm with whoever wins the bidding war. IBM via its cuts, is just making it more desirable to move forward as they are streamlining the resulting purchase.. With Covid extending into 2021 and suppressing current business revenue plans, expect IBM’s restructuring to accelerate. Most of the restructuring will be done by end of 1st q as the revenue landscape has cratered.
There you go, GTS! Before even NewCo forms, IBM is already loving Wipro! Soon, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, and Infosys!
