Exactly, and that's why the ranking system and TMI is such a joke. I'm surprised no one had tried to sue the company in how it's ranking is fair or not fair to individuals and how it's not based on overall of the year but on your supervisors memory and him fighting or not fighting for you.

You're a fool if you even try at all during the first half of the year. Since your raking is based solely on the "year end" review, nobody gives a f— you were a rockstar for the 6 months, you'll get a 3 because you made one mistake in September.

Same here, strong first half of year, always gone back and forth between a 1 and a 2, over 10 years of service, 40's, white, female, my Indian male peers are still there. The reductions don't always have to follow that the 3's go first.

Nope. I was ranked a 1 and let go 6 months later. Others in my department with less tenure and lower ratings are still there. One was even in the PIP process (Performance Improvement Process) — Green Card Indian. They let go based on gender/age/salary/nationality, etc. to not appear discriminatory regardless of performance. I just happen to check the box for 40 something, white, female, 10 years.

1's passed out like candy to minorities? Are you aware of legal reviews big companies do during performance management process? These baseless claims.

If you are rated 1, they cannot get rid of you before getting rid of other 2's and 3's just from legal perspective. They have a well defined process for this as they do it every 3-4 years. They will try to redeploy you first, even when they are getting rid of your entire team. Everyone knows Cummins has bad practices with the layoffs. Why BS? Does that make you feel better?

I saw 1’s passed out like candy to minorities who could barely speak English and had been on the job for only a few months. Performance reviews are rigged. Have been for years.

I relate. It’s not BS. I too scored 1 for several years in a row. Did not receive a promotion, or salary increase most years. In fact, received a salary freeze one year. The performance score between 1-3 is a bogus scoring system. I had 5 members on my team. Several scored a 1. I was told not to score them a 1. Only so many 1,2 or 3 must be distributed across the team. As a result, I had to score someone a 2 when they deserved a 1, and I had to score someone a 3 when they deserved a 2. Later their reviews advanced, and someone who knew nothing about our team and what we done, changed those scores to meet their metrics. 1’s went to 2’s or 3’s and 3’s went to 1’s or 2’s. The scoring system is based on race metrics and not performance metrics. It’s a bogus system

How could your entire team get rated a 1? I call BS.

I got the axe over the summer. My entire team was wiped out. We all had scored 1 on our performance reviews, many of us were subsequently lined up for salary increases and/or promotions. We were all shown the door without notice same day. Later found out, we were all being replaced by offshore outsourcing. Non-citizens, many of which who couldn’t speak much English, at a fraction of our salaries and with no benefits. Within weeks, I found a company eager to hire my skill-set at above market value. I swiftly accepted their offer at much more $$ than Cummins, and also brought in several of my prior team members! We all landed in much more $$, with a highly profitable, market expansion company! Thanks Cummins for the CUTS! Best that ever happened to me; wish they cut me long ago. Never knew what I was missing!

Lol I got the axe in January. Moved back home and got a job that's 10x more interesting and making more money too. Cummins looks good on a resume, just use it as that and get out. Greener pastures.

Yeah, a bit more detail would be helpful. What segment do you work in, did you hear how many, where, etc?
