Thread regarding ADP layoffs

Wow ADP stock has shot up again! Good news I guess? Are they saved?

I heard that a lot of reps have been pressured recently. Metrics are being pushed heavy whether the employees are performing or not.

Spoke too soon... Stock is falling again! But either way it does not matter as it won't save your job. You are in line for a job layoff. Watch and see. I assure you I am not making this up.

In the Q1FY 2021 earnings call ADP is reporting record retention, record NPS scores, better than expected sales performance and successful execution of the transformation initiative. So yes, from Wall Street's perspective they are safe and sound. The stock will go up - don't forget, they're also executing on stock buy back plans. Until/unless one of these efforts does not perform, yes ADP is considered a success. Complaints of employees and former employees mean nothing if there is no measurable impact on financial performance.

The best employees were indeed targeted and then eliminated. No dead wood there. The intent was to save on labor costs and the best employees tended to make the highest salaries, so out they went. The fact that they took ADP's knowledge base with them went past the intelligence of the top leadership team. Whoops! Amazing ineptitude! Now ADP is paying the price. And how!

I don't think the best ee's left. Much of it was dead weight. Under performers with lots of knowledge. Sandbaggers if you will. Losing the knowledge hurt which we all can agree on but what good is it if they didn't put in an honest weeks worth of work in a two week period.

"Definite pressure, I know TS has felt it." — what pressure? I don't follow what you mean.

"Remember, the stock price is not the only metric to judge a company. "

Very odd statement judging by all the posts when the stock takes a dive. Probably not your posts, but some folks here really seem to use that as a barometer.

Actual earnings beat estimates for Q1. Time will tell. ADP has dug a hole for themselves. But no doubt, the exec's have escape plans where they probably won't get burned.

No doubt, the price will go down tomorrow or the day after (profit taking?) and there will be a barrage of "stocks declining again" posts.

ADP has been saved? Umm... I do not see how.

The best employees have been eliminated. Have they returned? No.

Has ADP's inexperienced and transient workforce stabilized and become productive? No.

Have ADP's clients become satisfied and plan on staying with ADP for the long term? No.

Has management become competent and can clearly discern ADP's challenges and can appropriately plan for success? No.

Only the stock has gone up. But when I checked at around 10am today, it has started to go down again. Remember, the stock price is not the only metric to judge a company.
