People are talking about possible layoffs next month, any truth to it?

They do buyouts every year after the holidays and usually they target whatever’s left of the Tier I and II employees that are full time and make $12/$13+/hour.

Yup! It’s true! The entire HR department was offered buyouts recently, and that is the absolute truth which can be confirmed since their EVP, aka the Chief People Officer, accepted it and the company announced her leaving on November 5th I believe.
More are coming, and what better time than the Holidays to do so!
It’s true.. The ship is sinking and they don’t have enough life preservers for everyone. Obviously employees who are related to executives will get one. Also close friends of executives it looks like your safe. Everyone else what can we say. Giant Eagle isn’t making enough money to keep everyone on the payroll. Good luck and they hope you will still shop at the stores to show your support.
