I have been putting my resume out there like crazy since the last round of layoffs. Out of over 200 I’ve submitted, I haven’t gotten a single bite. I’ve been searching in my locality, then widened the range to outer cities/towns looking for basically anything I could get just to be able to use as a filler until something good comes along. I knew the job market would be bad - but didn’t think it’d be this bad. Has anyone had any luck?

Good news - I do t work for a bipolar boss anymore!
Same but I haven’t been given a start date.
I have a job offer from Northrop Grumman in Palmdale which I accepted. I don’t have a start date yet but things are looking good because of the offer. I’m in the middle of Onboarding. Several people from the high desert that got laid off in Palmdale have either already started working or have job offers with start dates in December or January with Northrop Grumman. I was told Northrop Grumman needs to fill around 1,100 jobs in the Palmdale area. I know the desert might not appeal to someone already living in the Poway area though.
Have you tried using a job recruiter? I never heard of them until Northrop Grumman had that online chat event about a week after the lay-off. Apparently, they (job recruiters) have been around for years but I was in the military before General Atomics and I didn’t need them or hear of them before. Try finding one on Linkedin that specializes in your field is my suggestion if you have not done that yet.
Try to apply and see what happens most of these layoffs were targeted.
Saw my position open up on GAs employment website.... I wonder if they will hire me if I reapply? I know I am qualified!
A former GA coworker who left the company 6 months ago called me out of the blue and offered me a position with NG. He tried to get me to go with him when he left but for some reason I stayed - obviously that was a mistake. Even if GA is a sh–ty company you can find good people that work at a sh–ty place. This person left bc he saw how sh–ty GA was.... I am thankful I made a relationship that lead to my new position with NG. Please hang in there and if I can return the favor to a fellow GA employee I will
I can even get an email stating we have looked at your resume but don’t like you. I have to admit I am a little scared.
Interviewing w/ Raytheon. Down to the final steps... have my fingers crossed
I was fortunate to land a position with Lockheed Martin but I will be leaving the SD area for Palmdale.
no good news just singing up for unemployment the job market for my skill-set is destroyed for the foreseeable future.
Covid has a big impact on employment at least that’s what I believe we will be experiencing.
File for unemployment after tomorrow and ride with it til the world picks back up to what it was before this 🤬 pandemic.
