Good luck to any managers who think they will be able to deliver results by replacing experienced employees with new hires. How will you train new hires in the current environment? How successful do you think you will be in keeping them once the economy picks up. Recipe for failure. I’d be afraid to be a manager trying to execute such a strategy. How will you explain when you can’t deliver?

I am one of those managers and it is that proposed strategy of replacing a 40+ years experienced engineer with 2-yr employees what keeps me awake at night. I am grateful that I am retirement eligible, so if any kind of package is offered, I'll take it.
Check the announcement boards and look at the new hires in the European GBC's. All to replace experience people elsewhere in Europe.
I was a 1 yr of service new hire asked to leave or be terminated in July due to “not providing sufficient business contributions” when compared to peers with three years of service in the company. I hired on in August of 2019 and went right into a training program, was told I wouldn’t be ranked, and then was told I was NSI for the above reasons out of the blue... I know at least 7 other new hires in similar situations. I don’t think replacing experience with new hires is the solution the company is going for; just moving countries, unfortunately.
Best of luck to everyone at ExxonMobil in the coming days! It’s a tough market, but things do get better
Even with the economy as it is, new hires are still jumping ship. A friend and I were PIL'd, and that led the rest of our friend group to look elsewhere. Some are gone already, despite not being NSI'd, and others are on the verge of getting new job. XOM is about to have a reckoning. Between experienced personnel retiring and new folks leaving ASAP, retention is about to plummet. Good luck outsourcing when you have no one left to train.
Any results mean "successfully delivered", no matter they are right or wrong.
How could the committee derived PowerPoint be wrong?
They will replace with employees that do have the same skill set as the US. Turn over will he high but cost will be high as well so they don’t care.
Every time I call IT in India the service is really bAd comparing to what we Have on the IT center in the campus. Managers and VP don’t have interface with this level os employees so they just care about saving.
Agree they are outsourcing but they are also still bringing in new hires. Funny where management feels they have to keep their word vs break it. Promised benefits (savings match, cost of living pay) were revoked but we can’t revoke offers? I’d say it is intentional to replace higher salaries with lower salaries. Management seems to think none can do the job. Basic lack of understanding what we do day in and out.
They are not replacing them with new hires. Engineering is being outsourced to India and vendors. Only ones left will be outsourcing coordinators a a few SMEs. The whole way we have been doing things for years is about to change drastically!
But the PowerPoint said it would save money!
