It looks like EC is evaluating reorg. I will be very surprised if we keep the current layers of management. But if we are reducing the layers, the individual contributers will be on first tier to let go. Need help to understand how much money is expected.

Without filing WARN, we are getting 2 months of pay instead. Not too bad for people that get laid off.
WARN rules are most likely very pro-business in Texas because it is a republican state. Some states even if they walk the person out the door And pay 60 days they still have a WARN report.
Too bad they didn’t have to give a WARN notice. It is a good way to see who is laying off and how many.
No one at OXY saw the warn notice before hand. In January the notice began when HR comes to your office and walks you out the door. They paid you the next 60 days as warn notice but you no longer have access to your computer or premises. Just pay. They do not have to pay anything else. OXY did pay severance but did not have too.
I don’t recall seeing a WARN notice last year. They must give this by law if certain criteria are met for a lay-off. There probably were not the numbers to trigger WARN.
The WARN notice you are mentioning here is the 60 notice. A company can make you work during the notice or pay you for the 60 days while you are walked out on day 1. This is what OXY did in January.

Waiting for this is really depressing. We all know it is coming. It is really annoying to get emails for very vague what is to come and when to come.

Wow. We all knew this was coming. Still going to hurt. I assume we will see 1st round before 12/31. And 2nd round in Spring. I still can't fathom what VH did to this company. Really hurts. You-Oxy board, let this stupid unqualified woman destroy our company. You should all be ashamed of what you did. We all knew this was a disaster once she went around the shareholder voting process. This is more saddening every passing day.

it will come shortly after the BAR performance review and before Thanksgiving. Just hope the upcoming hurricane delays it even more
Hope they get rid of the seat warmer managers. There’s some managers there that shouldn’t be managers let alone individual contributors. They know who they are.
They will give it based on the number of years of experience.
If you are grade 26 or above, you will receive one year of salary, otherwise, you get a few months.
Some companies follow the WARN notice to the exact Letter of the law and some weasel out of it. I would think Oxy being the classy company it is will follow the rules and give proper notification.
If not LAPC I would think the packages are all up in the air, and will be no where near what was given in January 2020 for the layoffs. I have been saving my vacation just to get extra weeks pay in case I am laid off.
I think the WARN is only needed when it is a certain percentage of total employees. Since the majority left under the VSP they probably don't have to report it. I hope we make it through the holidays. This whole pandemic has really made it hard on everyone, and the last thing I want is to be laid off during this time.
