Let’s be real and honest. Does Boeing really hire top talent? I am shocked Senior Leaders at Boeing have MBA’s from University of Phoenix.
I have no issue with lower level non executives just having for Profit School Education diploma.

NOT, just a degree, but actually have a license.
Yes and no. The potential to do great things is here but management throws speed bumps in your path at every opportunity. We are laid up with bloated processes that slow things down which ultimately drives costs higher.
Boeing is a joke ....from an engineering point of view
yes it is this bad, and lots of bullying by co workers and bosses alike. lots of good ole boys club hiring and talent haha what talent on many levels. employees get away with all kinds of bad behavior and time cheating and LOA that are not valid...bullying is not addressed, boeing is all talk to promote behaviors but that where it ends don't look to be supported by management, move on....
I worked at Boeing as an engineer for 11 years. In my experience, no, Boeing does not focus on hiring top talent. There are many good and excellent engineers who work for Boeing. However, the Boeing hiring process is not rigorous or competitive, and many mediocre folks go to work there. Many (not all) Boeing engineering positions primarily involve navigating labyrinthine bureaucracy and do not require a high degree of intelligence or creativity. The best attributes one can have to excel in these jobs are people skills, patience, and a lack of desire to focus on creative, technical engineering work. Many employees I would consider "top talent" get bored and/or frustrated at Boeing. Similarly, if one is interested in senior leadership, there are more fulfilling (and lucrative) options elsewhere.
As an Engineer, I left Boeing a while back. Why you may ask? Because I disagreed with their philosophy of building mediocre products that resulted in CRASHES ("the plane, the plane, the plane, it's gonna hit Gilligan's Island!!!"). When I spoke up, they pointed to this super tight schedule and told me to be a "team player". So glad I left. Hope everyone finds their way!

@dkb. Yes, I have seen a lot of inbred, mouth breathing knuckle draggers at Boeing.
Well at one time Boeing did reimburse employees for continuing education. So why not attain an elevated degree while on the clock to enhance your resume? More common than you think.
ALL colleges are for-profit, especially considering some of those "not for profit" school professors make $400,000+.
