Listen I know it’s great basspro can brag about hiring people during the pandemic but this is the worst group of hires I’ve seen in the 5 years I’ve worked here. We barely got anyone to show up for our hiring day and the people we did hire aren’t exactly the brightest bulbs. We only filled 18% of the positions we needed. Basically just teens and people who want to work two days of the week for a discount. Is the company this desperate to not be competitive in the retail market?

When the only requirement is to have a pulse, that's what you get. Cab/bass have screwed so many people over that most know to avoid working there like the plague.
It was pretty abysmal. Way to many failed background checks or just want a shift every week to get a discount.
Our hiring events were terrible like previous years. I’m pretty excited about the people we’ve hired during these months outside of the event though. They all seem pretty good. It’s just a roll of the dice though. We could really do better to compete.
