I suggest you do some research into what it takes to produce those solar panels, windmills, batteries. It takes a vast amount of energy. Europe looks great as it's installing it, but fails to realize the fossil demand it is pushing onto the countries that manufacture/mine the equipment for them. That is what people are calling the transition. On top of that, it's still going to take decades to transition in globally. Renewable infastructure and personal electric vehicles in US and Europe isn't going to k–l global demand. Please look beyond your own country and realize the majority of the world is impoverished and doesn't even have electricity. Solar panels and windmills isn't going to provide their needs.
People in the US: please look further than your own country, renewables are the future, fossil fuel is not. Yes, there is a transition period, but especially in Europe expect it to go fast, as law imposes renewables more and more and penalises fossil fuels.
No money to be made with renewables? I would suggest: do some research.
PS I do not count EM's algae study as a profitable renewable.
Transition to what? Unicorn milk and rainbow dust? Until it is more "refined" pardon the pun, there's nothing to transition to. There's nothing to make plastics and synthetics from that isn't cost prohibitive. It's an end sum game...EOM has the people, resources, and all that is needed, when that time comes. We are as a society going to be moving towards that goal for many years after I am gone and I am past the half century mark, myself....
Why would you buy renewables now when the price of technology is high? Wait it out and buy when it's cheaper.
Energy production is different than buying a commodity resource. You cannot say waiting to buy into renewables is the same as what happened with XTO.
Not late, just a matter of looking silly once again, buying high and selling low, impair assets hurting shareholders value. sounds familiar? xto?
No. Renewables are going to be growing over the next many decades. Anyone thinking that a transition is going to be fast is dillusional. Getting in now is just investing in very low ROI technology.
Nah
