They all also ran their company slim. 590 to be exact. So get ready for more layoff folks.

The fact that the top two positions (CEO and COO) were given to the acquired company tells you how bad the leadership has been at Devon at the top. Now, expect the new leadership to clean house of all the waste. They’ll start with Operations leadership which is long overdue. Then they’ll start with getting rid of the people who can’t quantify any value other than the number of projects they completed. The ones that make it to the other side will be apart of a much better company going forward than either on their own.

Birds of a feather..... there was a mention that RM went to Denver and berated and insulted the staff. When DH stepped up off the BOD years ago, he got all of the Devonites together and said they were incompetent and lazy. He showed favoritism, but his only favorite was himself and family member who also worked at DVN .

The DVN stock will go lower, you notice it was a all stick deal? They don’t have the cash.. this deal will drive down the stock price .. to much worthless stock on the market

When Muncrief took over WPX, one of the first things he did was show up in Denver and insult both employees and the City. Good luck.

Wpx coo is an incompetent schmoozer with zero ability to lead. I’ve witnessed it. It will be a schitz show with that looser in charge. Just wait and watch. There’s a reason he’s been ran off at a couple of companies.

JH last move might have been his best as he negotiated a bargain price for primo Delaware holdings. As long as we don't get stuck with some of their hillbilly staff we should be in better shape.

I wonder if they will go back to a lower case logo? Things went to hell when they put in the capital D.

I wonder about location. Devon is pretty small now and the pineal tower is a lot of burden for a company to be saddled with in a time of remote work.

WPX has some good leadership, COO could do wonders if given the reins to Devon’s assets . If Devon strong-arms the negotiations and its leaders stay at the helm, look out WPX-ers. However it goes, synergies will almost exclusively be at the cost of someone’s job. Continue the blood letting of everyone supporting Devon’s water tower org chart in order to keep investors content. Silver lining is that if these two combine and make rational decisions, they may be positioned to outperform their peer group when increased demand returns.
