Now, if someone can explain to me why we need a separate company, with separate and duplicate executives, with separate not communicating systems, just a few miles north, with people getting expat treatment just for going essentially to Detroit or Seattle then we could discuss the rest.

Look at our proposed budget to meet dividend payouts — significant cuts (20-30%) are coming. It’ll take 6 months for them to create and execute the plan, so save up money and right size your spending for this uncertainty.

At IOL, I believe there have been a few "shambolic" separations of recent hires and junior analyst but these reductions will not make the slightest of dents in the payroll. The fat cats i.e. certain corporate executives, beneficiaries of nepotism, politically correct appointees, sycophants and cronies survive. The results of an organizational culture survey conducted two years ago gave management a F+, and was a damming indictment of their performance. Not one manager was held accountable for the toxic culture prevailing (they blame Exxon). The Exxon appointed CEO, retired and it was business as usual. Today, IOL is a faint shadow of its former glory days, overstaffed, out of touch with reality and totally out witted by competitors in the market place.

So much mention of IT - bullying in a way. Focus on what is being hit - not what'd you prefer.
Do you know what Moncton/St. John have undergone in the past 4 years now?
The 'performance' pipping out in the US did show some success and new style applying now in both EM and IOL. 'Never liked that gal - and that guy used my salad dressing.'

Decimation with training your replacements, then another Decimation... virtually unannounced.
10 by 10 by 10 by 10 - which EM considers the right dividend.

Now - you can Decimate again and again.
And by basic Euclidean geometry we're told: You'll never eliminate the last employee.

Try to be that gal.

"poor performers", or at least that's what they have been told, have been getting let go across various departments. Know of people in midstream, refining, controllers, engineering, admins, upstream, projects... Ontario and Alberta have been affected. Don't think it is specific to any one department or group.

There is an Imperial forum on this site, but not much posting happening...

I see many have realized the value that Canadian EMIT offers ... unfortunately the Canadian EMIT mafia in Houston will be left untouched ... they all localized.

There have been separations happening in Canada over the past 3 weeks or so. Haven't heard anything on overall numbers or whether it crosses all functions, but definitely some happened recently.

Plenty of pickings in IT up there. Some folks have been milking it for a long time

I would hope so, there are a lot of high cost people at least in IT that don’t offer anything special that could be done out of Brazil, Hungary, Thailand, or India for a fraction of the cost.

Everything is on the table now that we are running out of borrowed money.. then again! I’m sure we will be fine as long as the dividends are maintained!
