Layoffs are expected around Thanksgiving in SD. H1-Bs could be impacted due to the rule change. It would be prudent to access your situation and plan accordingly. Some folks are looking elsewhere and I'm hearing some even relocating to Bangalore.

San Diego will have layoffs for the foreseeable future. As long as you are not mid-management or making the top salary for your position you should be okay for awhile. But layoffs are the norm now not an exception.
