Do we know when is layoffs day? I'm sure our lovely and thoughtful CEO wouldn't drag it throughout the end of October. Would he?

Any update from any where? WaitIng for this thing to be over.
To reduce costs. TD sends development of unattractive & zombie products to lower cost countries in Asia and partsEurope. It is unfair cuz those are countries w/ skilled people capable to contribute to key initiatives. This is a business not a charity.
Already 2 offices closed in India within the last 1 year. I think there is something big coming for India employee. mass layoff is my guess.
it only mentioned "Summary: India, India, India, India."
What's the fuss??
what is wrong with India? Why are we added to this topic?
Will it be all at once? Or over multiple days?
Monday? There is a company wide meeting Tuesday.
Next week is lay-off week.
Summary: India, India, India, India.
Predicting the date is like reading tea leaves, but we do it because people want certainty, even in the face of uncertainty. Heres a way to think about it. Staff accepting the early retirement offer must do so by September 30. Clearly, the number accepting the offer will not be close to the number of projected cuts. The timing of those cuts probably depends on wheter or not the RIF list has already been formulated. If so, it makes no sense to wait until the end of October. Why sink additional margin by paying folks who will not be around in a month? On the other hand, if the RIF list is first being compiled, end of October sounds reasonable.
This week people and again next month. Get off the island of denial while you still can. TD cares about no one so on one is safe.
For anyone wondering what the exact wording was in the last timing communication from SM, here it is:
“ We expect to end September with decisions made and actions underway to improve how we operate and where we will remove costs so that we end the year in a stronger position of financial health. Where our decisions include employee impacts, our plan is to communicate to employees by the end of October. Of course, as always, there is a chance timing could move slightly, but in keeping with my commitment to transparency, this is the timing we are working toward.”
This is the worst and most inhumane way to handle a lay-off. The company announced that there will be RIFS more than two months ago. After a month they said it will be end of October. Now it is actually going to be this week or first week of October given the way the meetings are laid out. Please don’t tell me I should be always market ready and ready to find a new job which I am. But there are some moral obligations for the company as well - which they totally failed. Actually I am ready to go. Preparing and waiting for the right Opportunity. Good luck to all of us.
"by the end of October" right? If LDay is not 10/5 the company company will get awkwardly awkward
The email from SM said it will be end of October. Did something change after that communication ?
I am guessing Friday 10/2.
I look forward to my next challenge if this journey ends! Good luck to all!
SM company meeting 10/6, HA staff meeting 9/30. Unless they plotting a horrible joke, I'd assume it happen between those days.
Right?
Assuming it will be first week of October ending on October 5th as there is an all hands on October 6th. Typical company behavior during layoffs.
Second half of October.
I have no inside info, but an all company meeting invite just went out for 10/6, so I’m thinking 10/5 would be a pretty good guess.
Go to Market sales is safe unless you have o er 10 years of tenure and over 55!
It will be between 9/30-10/31
