Run, run as far away from Union Pacific as you can. It is the most unethical company there is when it comes to dealing with employees. They were the 3red Fortune 500 company I have worked for & by far it was the most toxic work environment I have seen, the employees moral the lowest I have ever seen. I have never seen such poor management, management that can't manage but would stab their mothers in the back. A company that jumps over hundreds of thousands of dollars to save a buck. They put more effort in finding someone/something to blame then actually fixing the problem.

I resigned 6 months ago and couldn't be happier. You've got to know when you're beat and move on. Being a carman where you walk everything, I wasn't about to go through another PSR winter. Wrapping around 118 cars by myself in -20 windchill. No thanks.
You can't spell stupid without UP and you can't fix stupid.
Everyone has a choice, continue working somewhere you hate or quit and find something else. I left 18 months ago and have never been happier. I do miss some of the people I worked with and I enjoyed my job. The culture changed so much when Jim Young died and the work environment became unbearable. If you live in an area where you can find other employment, see what is available. I know some live in areas where there is not very much opportunity with the current economy and I feel for you. I wish everyone the best.
Don't run away like a punk! See the post below and work to take the power back!
