Thread regarding Change Healthcare layoffs

Incompetent managers

Is there anybody here who can say they have a competent manager who knows what he or she is doing and who they can turn to if they have a question or an issue to solve? I'm honestly curious because I'm yet to run into one.

I nearly forgot, those managers are always the ones who avoid being laid off. I guess there is something they're good at.

Well said. I was just like you being a good mentor and a manager to my teams. I decided to leave 2 years ago after CH dismantled my teams and reassigned me to a different group as an individual contribution, i.e. demoted, WITHOUT having a conversation with me. I have proved that I made the right decision to depart.

Management is an art form. You can teach it, but the learning must start at 6 years old. Seldom do you get a coach, mentor or manager you are 100% in on. If you find it you typically marry them.

But if you get one that is 90% you will run threw a brick wall for them. I was great at managing people. I knew what each wanted and how to empower them. I was never scared of being topped. A few people broke threw walls for me. I bought em lunch and they did it again.

I just did not like all the change above me. So I made it easy on myself. Now I wait for my incompetent manager to bring me death to this career.

I find it is best not to take the easy at times. Keep at it. It will be ok.
