Leadership challenge

We know from insiders that leadership is required to read these messages daily. If you really care about us, forego some of your salary and give us more severance.
Or, send us some of your money...... (not happening because you don't care if we survive)

There were quite a few hiring. I know for a fact that Super markets were and delivery based jobs were plentiful. But of course you are too good for those jobs. So wallow because I would rather work at those kind of jobs than work 1 day more for SWSD.

6 months to find a job...

Ok how many people were hiring during the pandemic when most of orlando, let alone the other locations with seaworld parks were closed down? Businesses were losing money all over. Everyone was cutting jobs. Nobody was hiring you blithering fool.

So then lets look at it since then. Have some found jobs? Sure. I personally ran into a lot of "Why should we hire you? You are furloughed and if you get called back to your old job we are left hanging. We will pass!" Wonder how many others experienced tha.

Of course I could have taken one of the few places that were hiring that cut my pay under half of what it was... that sure sounds fun! I wonder if you had done that? Even taking into account the extra 600 and florida's unemployment.. I was still about 75% of the pay I was getting when actually working. I was a responsible person though, I kept paying my car payment, insurance, rent and other bills. So its not like I got to bank a bunch of money.

You talk about it being our responsibility that we ended up in this situation... no. None of us got fired over this because of poor performance. Or being late. Or cursing out our bosses. We got hosed because SR wanted to give 7 million in stock to his executives, a certain politician "downplayed it on purpose so to not panic people", and years of bad decisions prior to this left the company already on the edge. So **** you to anyone who thinks this was my fault I got let go. I worked hard for my promotions and got hosed after the blood sweat and tears I gave to this job in order to leave people there who could not compose an email if their life depended on it.

I love the "you had time to find another job" trope that so many like to throw out there. Many of us thought, as we were told, this was going to be temporary. Many of us wanted to go back, so we waited for the reopening. Once the parks reopened we waited for the call until it became obvious from both SW and UO that there would be no rebound. I would guess at that point, most started diligently looking, but being that we're in the middle of a pandemic induced recession, there's not a lot to be found and what is there is being fought for by dozens, if not hundreds, of others.

Good for you that you either weren't let go or you found something quickly, but the fact that you were successful doesn't mean that those who weren't did something foolish.

Give us a break! Make the government tax payers pay. We were told this was a temp furlough. The unemployment barely covered COBRA premiums. Why did you give others full severance and not others? Discrimination?

Some of y’all had 6 months to find a job, with 4 of those being furloughed while earning an extra $600 a week in expanded unemployment benefits.

Yeah, leadership is really shady, but a lot of the responsibility lands on you as well.

Sure the severance was cut, but you likely earned more with the expanded unemployment.
