I seem to recall that if had been with Allscripts less than a year and got laid off you did not qualify for severance. Not sure if the person who stated they were laid off and received no severance fell under that category or not. The only other reason I can think of not getting a severance was if they were fired vs. RIF'd.
Are you saying no severance package in last layoffs? Hard to believe. Was he terminated with a cause? If it is true, that will be too bad. I am waiting for it for several years already.
@2xxv+174gha1w - Don't bank on it. Just heard of a principal engineer that was laid off with zero severance. Could be the purse strings are starting to tighten a bit. ...But yeah, no time like the present to get out.
To @1hix+174gha1w: Why resign now? Let them lay you off and get severence and cobra subsidy. Unless you have something really good lined up, then off you go.
So does that imply the next round still happening in September or December?
The problem with that scenario is with severance packages the decrease in expenses doesnt show up for at least another quarter. [many posts on this site show ignorance of very basic business/accounting. Might want to brush up on that!]
November 2020 would see mass layoffs in US. By that time, not only the financial ‘strength’ of the company would be more transparent, Indian cheap laborers will be fully ‘trained’ to take ‘responsibility’ of US employees’ whatever work load whatever remains of it. Clock is ticking fast, still time to get out before they throw you out!
upcoming earnings call is, 2020-10-29
Be prepared for another big round of layoffs before the call so PB and LK can make their ends meet to keep their job safe.
I believe the Q3 results will come out in early Nov. The quarter ends 9/30 and they typically have a month to prepare their reports.
