However many people accept to leave voluntarily, you can expect regular layoffs to follow. Expecting anything else is intentionally choosing to live in denial. Teradata needs to cut costs drastically. The easiest way to do that is through layoffs. The sooner you accept that the easier it’ll be on you when it actually happens.

Layoff / RIF / right sizing is a short term approach. The real answer is - can we sustain the market. How are we placed against the competition? Cloud First is a method not the end goal. MBA schools first year SWOT analysis 1:1. Did some one ask that question? LOL.
The second aspect - culture! We have some major hurdles here with lack of appropriate (standard) tracking, managing and adjusting methods. We are driven very much by perception and "hot topic of the day" mind set. Folks rather fly under the radar than to stand up and do some thing to upset higher-ups. One of the other postings out there about the "make sure" management is a testimonial to the culture. Many folks in senior leadership have assumed the roles without relevant experience or demonstration of success in their careers.

As for me, I am thinking game on... lets play the game until I am let go or some one is p-ss-d! Perhaps I will influence things in a meaningful way. If not, I tried and I will learn some thing from the experience.
