Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Another Round of Layoffs to last through the Holidays

Get ready,

Halliburton is going for a record 365 days in a row of keeping folks on the wire.

I’d say the only safe regions are UK, and Singapore.

Love the guys from Sing so proud of the cheese that slid off of Jeff's pizza. BOD and ex COM should consider outsourcing themselves to Sing. Shareholders rejoice!

Bossier, USA just hired CMT operators last week. HAL will hire/fire/demote/layoff/relocate at will. Situational day to day. Get real people and focus on bettering yourself and not preach or cry!

Significant layoffs like another 1000 or just a couple of people? Mostly US ?

I feel for you guys but the layoffs doesn't apply to Singapore. Apparently they are adding more headcounts to aid in additional workload.

I find it interesting that you all are talking about another round of layoffs when there have been layoffs every month since April...including this month and dates are set for next month. They haven’t stopped so why would we be shocked that they continue thru the Holidays?

Moving Mfg and Technology fully to Singapore and Arbroath will be better for Halliburton in the long run. The equipment and latest technology coming out from here is top notch.

Where are those who were bashing Singapore and touting only the facilities in the US can produce equipment? Rather than bad mouthing here in this board they should let the Halliburton shareholders and banks know moving technology and manufacturing to Singapore is a recipe for disaster and put pressure to keep the facilities in the US.

True, seems like there are always layoffs during the Holiday season every year, even in better times. Any underperforming PSL should be on alert.

I will predict moving manufacturing overseas will be a short lived endeavor. Once the “lion” cannot blame or play the Monopoly money game against Carrollton the smoke will clear and they will be standing there with parts that cannot get past a quality test And a shift back to respected manufacturing will happen. But—if they actually manufacture items instead of outsourcing everything it might be sooner than later;)

Sperry develop all tool software in Singapore. The team here at NB is very inefficient and the manager a real POS.

“Made in America” means nothing if the employees don’t care to add that value. Singapore adds that value.
