You're a small minded dimwit if you think you have a better chance without a union, what we need is one ( 1 ) big union not a few fighting with each other... There is power in a union, together we bargain divided we beg.
I got 1 jacket in 12 years, and a lot of, "They can do that". They've zero power anymore worthless at Union Pacific.
You can change your union. If you don’t feel you are getting represented start a card drive to form a rogue union. Or hound your chairman to get out and talk to everyone weekly. But why would any working person want to have no representation.

Even if the only thing you looked at is the dues. Being part of a union is beneficial to working people. I can only speak for my area. But wages for similar types of work are about 10 dollars less when mon union. So do the math. But there is so much more. Corporate America is out to use us up and throw us away. If you’re not getting feedback and representation from your union, demand it. Start a drive to change union’s. That will get their attention. But don’t throw the best thing working people have to fight for fair wages and working conditions out the window.

We now will need unions more than ever. The courts have been stacked with corporate leaning judges over the last three years.
The unions are playing into the company hands and divided, they are easily defeated. They are outdated in all aspects of technology and efficiency. Why they do
not offer online, recorded meetings allowing members to absentee vote is beyond me... the local website hasn't been updated in years and if you ask any five reps a question you will most likely get five different answers. We need to consolidate and have the local reps make representation their full time job. This outdated way of doing things is a sure path to failure!
I’ve personally needed the union but I’ve seen people get in trouble and director gives out the punishment and union only says go ahead sign it with no fight whatsoever
Look at our labor history. That will tell you why we need unions.
Being a union rep at a small location, I can tell you they are worthless (union pee-ons).
We pay and pay and pay. And when you need their help, they say and say they don't have the resources. All of their (there, they're) time is taken up protecting employees that should be terminated anyway. If you are a decent worker, our reps decide that we should take care of ourselves.
Why do we put our trust in representation, and have our $$$ go to worthless employees. Before you all attack me, I am just pointing out what has been exposed. In the end, we are all sc-ap meat. Just pay our dues and be glad we have a job!

You're 100% correct their totally fricken worthless. I think they're negotiate our contract right now but who knows they don't tell you a fricken thing. But there's a lot less of us working so guarantee a Union due Increase.
