So I was just out driving around and there a lot of people driving on the freeway during rush hour. It seems like it is more than 50% of pre-virus levels. These people are working at some office and they are not service people either, unless service people are driving around expensive cars now. So why can’t OXY get their behinds back to the office to make some real money for the company. Are big oil company people so arrogant that they think they are the chosen ones who do not have to go to work anymore?

The message about New York City coming back was trying to say something encouraging and the @3fnp+170HKowe poster was so closed minded I doubt it if they would come back even when COVID is solved. Got a clue for you. Once COVID is solved either you come back to the office or you quit.
LAPC "OXY would have already sunk if it wasn’t for LAPC"
Oxy would have been just well without APC.
Hilarious.
OXY would have already sunk if it wasn’t for LAPC, but the ship is sinking as LAPC numbers dwindle.
We are working from home, if you don’t like it leave! You won’t be missed!
Regarding WFH, people need to watch how New York City business comes back to work. It appears that some businesses in 10 story buildings are coming back. This would be a great test for the rest of us.
In regards to the last two post it is probably being planned right now, and many will not even see the office again. The fact it is out until it is proves to me there is a lot of planning going on now for when we do go back. Keep in mind the election also has a lot to do with the amount of staff needed. They are probably looking at many scenarios pre and post election.
@3hin
There is no difference between dead weight working from home or dead weight in the office. From what I have personally witnessed, the dead weight that was there pre-COVID is still performing no better or worse while WFH than when they were in the office. There are certain individuals who are kept around because of various relationships or their managers having no driver from above to address their performance. Bringing them back to the office won’t change anything. The condition already existed way before WFH started.
Start the next round of layoffs or risk the future of the company VH
But people working from home who shouldn’t even be working for the company impacts the bottom line. Probably as much as selling an airplane. Severance pay is as much as they want to pay.
Per below, if stockholders think the stock price is reflective of office people working from home and thus causing less revenue for the company, they’re id–ts. I’m not sure how that leap was made but it holds no water. Here’s what causes less revenue: less development drilling due to less available capital, poor marketing contracts, hurricanes, downtime caused by poor maintenance, OIL PRICE.... any of this caused by white collar workers working from home instead of the office? And no the decreased demand associated with us not driving in isn’t a drop in the bucket.
Likewise I am going to buy something nice for my yard come the end of the month
This WFH is a gas
I just sit in my a– all day watching Netflix and Fox sports
I hope my boss doesn't actually call me and give me something to do
WFH demonstrates how bloated the company is, start lay-offs now.
Most likely an upset stockholder tired of losing money from irresponsible companies who cant manage their people resource expenses.
This is such a weird thread. Who is the person making all the aggressive comments about people who prefer WFH? Why the anger? How is it hurting you? You clearly haven’t experienced enough life yet to understand all the different circumstances that individuals could face that make their preferences different from yours.
You really don’t get it do you. You must not like your coworkers or your job or your company. Get lost you non-professional anti-social looser.
Who’s hiding away? Teams, Skype, email, phone. There are ample opportunities for communication. Sorry that waking into people’s offices is all ya got.
Most people, but not all, have formed bonds with people they work with. Be it a shared technical view or normal social interaction they seem to like their coworkers. It s abnormal to hide in your home away from those who you work with. They is nothing wrong with this If this is who you are, but I have a feeling that you really just want to relax at home. Nothing wrong with that. It is called retirement.
By the way if you are in favor of WFH then you should not being doing any outside the home activities. No gun club meetings, no church, no rallies, meeting with friends, indoor restaurants, etc. I hope you get my point.
Love seeing the Oxy playground bully haters and bigots all over these boards. So glad that payback has come fully around in their faces. I bet my life the best is still to come, though.
It's time to say go back to work, use your pto, get on short term disability, or find a new job. Can't sue the company. Rip the band aid. Lets go.
The people that can’t work from home have no life whatsoever, we should feel sorry for those people because their only form of social interaction is at the office. It should actually be a wake up call for them in reference to their inability to think beyond their occupation.
WFH is the best
Do nothing and get paid
I am buying a Hudson Bay hot tub with this months check from stupid VH
I hope you LOXY are taking up the slack for me
Same here, I very much appreciate the WFH, definitely no slacking off and lots of work here.
Lmao. Yeah, oil companies make money AT THE OFFICE.
I went to the office the other day and no one was at Greenway, but it was early. It looks like you could go back if you want, but I appreciate them not making us go back. Things have been put in place to distance, wear mask, etc. Traffic going in at that time was pretty busy, and when I left and headed back north the traffic was stop and go on 59 South by downtown, and it looked like pre-covid days around 7:00AM. There were a ton of cars heading north as well all the way up through Kingwood. It really surprised me at the amount of cars. I now see kids on school buses wearing mask and have seen football teams on buses heading to games. High School football is playing as is college and the pros. There really is a lot of activity out there, and the Texas unemployment rate today was at pre-covid levels. I think if you want to go back you can in October if you want. I for one am a little older and at a higher risk, so I really appreciate the WFH.
