I was in the Westwood store last week. The garden center was closed off, the grocery section was at 25% occupancy, and many of the empty shelves throughout the store were filled by folding chairs (there were aisles and aisles of the same folding chair).
Also, that parking lot is definitely heck. If you care about the underside of your car, you need to keep it below 15mph.
Oh no! Not my Westwood Kmart... Say it aint so! :( I was hoping they'd hang on till the bitter end!
I can tell you from personal experience, that the Westwood plaza is in rough shape overall. The parking lot needs a complete repaving, and the whole plaza itself looks from the 80's, with a high number of storefronts vacant. I've heard rents are TOO high. So any possible tenants willing to come in, understand that you're coming into a run down old shopping plaza, with high rent cost. That might spare the Westwood store for just a bit longer...
