If every engineer/analyst vies to be a DH, DM, or higher, in his career chase within EM, then where will the worker bees come from?
Everyone also want to own a high-powered BMW/Merc - but only few can smell such cars.
Everyone also want to own and live in D10 landed property in SG, but few can materialise that dream - even till his/her end-career, or EOL.
Everyone also want to earn >>$400K-500K pa salary in EM, but how many can even get a chance to come close?

The whole blardy EMPS (combining F&L and Chemical) consolidation … transformation, heck, call it whatever you want, is a headcount reduction affair.
Add on to that, end-state TMTS for Manufacturing, makes the cut even deeper.
Those who are “lucky” enuf to remain behind, will just have to shoulder more work load.
EM (and all other fossil fuel oil majors) has always been the largest industrial source-contributor of carbon emissions. But now, with LCS and LEF, we have suddenly claimed to be the master and purveyor of blue hydrogen technology, CCS, ammonia fueling, and the likes - regardless of the additional and significant cost-to-produce, to bring all these to market.
Transformation is another name of reducing headcount and load more other guys ..indirectly still going to reduce head counts for cost cutting/efficiency.

no, ES engineers already know they are all dispensable. Morale is already low, don't need to low blow them by hinting that they are in denial.

this company is not for ES engineers...they can be easily replaced by someone from KL or BTC... but apparently many ES people refuse to acknowledge the fact. the longer you stay, the worse you will get stuck...
just imagine you are above 45 yo and your hipo SLS tell you sorry man your CL is too high and you are ranked against me and my boss, I got no choice but give you PIP...but no worries we don't cut headcount you know, it is for you to improve so that next round you will beat me and my boss in ranking...please setup a weekly performance review session with me...thank you very much.

If you happen to walk past HBF office Ya Kun or Toast Box, many were chitchatting but I noticed some work very late. Perhaps this is their ways of distressing of workloads and complaining about evils culture. I’m also very surprised that this forum is very active till today.
