@8nvn sure get pip one what. But just su-k it up and do the pip with good attitude lah, then what else can they do to you?

Remember you have already been communicated, and can go to MOM if the supervisor make it too difficult. Of course feel damn bitter and sour but keep your eye at the pot of gold at the end.

Once you walk out of here who remembers who pip? But the money is in your bank

@8nt0 as long no "pip" in between.

ok lah think about it got 2 more years of salary plus a package at the end.
remember to save your leave to encash. the carry forward one can encash too. so can potentially be paid 35 working days (almost 2 months) at the end, if this year you carry forward 10 days and your leave entitlement is 25 days (i.e. you worked 20+ years)

damn, you been farming almost 10 years, good job. That is the way to go, because you don't get fairly assessed on what you have done. If you have stayed on while working lesser and not getting NSI, you have gamed the system well enough.

Just continue to farm, farm until it is your last day….

Ever since 2017, who still give a f@rk whether you give in your best or not? Even yes your superior will say no, not good enough to gaslight you.

The most funniest thing is at that point of time, people still cursing me for saying “just farm and stay in the game, don’t need to do so much… you are not DW, why there is a need to sacrifice so much? In the end they will just pip you off. For some lucky one Exxon at least give them package to sent them off”

How about those unlucky ones? Give in so much of their time in the end Exxon just give them a middle finger hahas!!!!

It is very weird that how EM management handled the situation. On one hand they tell you your last day will be end of 2026, on one hand they still say you must work hard to support. Do they think people are robotsss, end of service then unplug the power supply everything settled? what the hexxk, the stupididity is across the board.
There is no real leadership in that group, the capable ones already left long ago, then all the SGrean expats came back and took the position but could not stand up against their US masters, only know how to be toxic to local workforce. Many of them just want to get by the days and can take huge packages from Exxon, so the signal is very clear: exxon will get the fxxk out of SG soon, you and I will be able to witness the day.
End of era my friends, no point lingering around the sinking ship with any hope, spend 90% of your time explore new opportunities while waiting for your last day, you don't give a fxxk like what they do to you (we learn from the management)
Good luck.

From a recent LinkedIn Career Transition Master Post www.handiscoverycards.com

Singapore's job market isn't broken. It's obsolete.

Three people touched an elephant in the dark.
One grabbed the trunk. "It's a snake." (Employers: "Singaporeans are unemployable.")
Another held the leg. "It's a tree." (Government: "Unemployment is 1.9%. Jobs are available.")
The third pulled the tail. "It's a rope." (Workers: "I've sent 500 applications. Nothing.")

Each described their piece of truth. None saw the whole animal.

Singapore built a workforce for a middle class that's disappearing. For 30 years, the script worked: Get credentials, Get a $4K–$8K role, Climb the ladder, and Retire safe.

That machine is breaking.
High-end work has gone hyper-technical and AI-native.
Low-end work is expanding, but cannot sustain life here.
And the $4K–$8K PME tier that powered Singapore's prosperity is being automated, outsourced, or reorganised out of existence.

Everyone is right. Everyone is struggling.
Because the system they're navigating is dead.

You're not unemployable. You were built for a game that ended.
One that rewarded credentials over capability. That market is gone.

The bamboo forest is serene at first glance.
Reality? A vertical war for sunlight: silent, fierce, relentless.
That's the real competition.
Not your colleague, but Manila, Jakarta, Bangkok, Bengaluru, you name it.
Cheaper. Hungrier. AI-augmented. Rising fast.

So stop asking "Who will hire me?"
Start asking, "What problem can I solve that proves I'm worth 5X what I cost?"
Stop competing for disappearing jobs.
Start positioning yourself where AI, outsourcing, and cheap labour can't follow.

This isn't theory. Three decades of work with over 100,000 professionals show one pattern clearly:

Those who adapt early don't just survive the collapse of the middle.
They dominate what opens next.

The old system isn't coming back.
One path lets you choose your position.
The other leaves you with whatever's left.
Your call.

@8gzg tbh there is no more evident high flyer in this particular function anymore. So don't fall into the illusion that you are a high flyer just because you are in this particular "elite" group.

Work hard and learn as much as you can and move on to hopefully contribute back to the company (if not is okay, leave for better company also can). Don't be those delusional ba----d thinking they are super hipo when actually they are just lying to themselves and can't even do justify basis econs and only know how to churn/set plans on fire just for attention.
