CUSA has cut several thousand jobs this year.
What’s the demographic breakdown of Kevin’s job cuts? Anecdotally it does not look to be based on merit????????????????!!!!!

Canon planned the cuts before convid. Convid pushed the date up. Yes the plan was done last year. The copier division is dying.
People who didn't get laid off ,are leaving.
@ngrw+16zDrZj4- canon carnage worse than xerox carnage? What are the lay-off and furlough numbers at canon?
If you are not aware of the absolute carnage at Canon USA, you are not well-informed on the industry.
I think a lot of people just starting out in the industry got duped into believing some companies could actually reinvent themselves. That said, based on the carnage I’m seeing elsewhere, Canon is the best positioned financially and technologically.
Same things at Ricoh. Now run just by the Japanese and unfortunately are taking it down for some reason. If you are young and still work in this industry. I would seriously look into an industry that is growing and expanding.
I don’t see young people being attracted to any companies in this industry. Any current millennials still around should have seen first hand by now that things are not as advertised. Could be worse... at least Canon’s disparity between reality and fantasy is n’t as huge as at ricoh or xerox.
If you look at the org chart it’s all Japanese Upper Management now. Very disappointing and an outdated mindset in 2020.
Young American employees who were kept will not forget a blatant bias towards keeping the Japanese and letting go of Americans, as future opportunities emerge.
Several thousand cuts to Canon USA? These were pre pandemic? Mostly camera division?
