It indeed depends on the state. Some allow it, some don't. If you live in one state, but you work in another, you might have some flexibility at which state to file, so choose wisely.

New information is this it about it for the layoffs in 3rd qtr. There will be another big round , maybe 2, in 4th qtr. as they plan to further consolidate. Most likely right before the holidays but thats up in the air still.

I think the severance is coming bi-weekly. Not sure as I haven’t got my papers yet. I was just laid off Thursday.

It may also depend on your state. Some states won't let you collect if your severance is paid weekly/biweekly.

If your severance package is less than 21k then yes. If it is more than 21k then it will offset with UC
