Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Boeing Leadership Center closing the doors

So they're laying off all the staff that cater to the managers at the Boeing leadership Center and closing down the leadership Center. That means the management pool will be shrinking too. no more annual conference training for the managers in Missouri.

To the Aramark employee who was mistreated. I also worked in the classroom area. As a white female I was expected to do my job above & beyond while my coworkers were allowed to do whatever they wanted including stealing. My boss was very prejudice against her white employees & we did not get any perks the others did until we found out about it. When you are caught stealing on camera & get to keep your job & get two promotions that’s a crime. They also were not laid off when there rest of us were. The Aramark management allowed this ! The morale had slipped to an all time low with the final Aramark management team. But we all stayed because we had been there since the beginning & had seniority, a new career we would lose that seniority, so we stayed. Sorry you were not treated right but in my department it was the other way around.

I worked for the Boeing leader ship center like 15 years ago I was a minority and that is exactly how I was treated no matter what any of the other employees did. It was OK because they weren’t afraid of me. They didn’t think I would sue them for discrimination. I put up with about six years of abuse from that place because I was determined that nobody was gonna run me out of there. I stayed strong. I guess I was liked by many Boeing employees, but by Aramark not like to much.
I absolutely loved my job. I worked in the class area where I wasn’t having to put up with most of Aramark, employees. I was mostly with the Boeing people all day but the few Aramark, coworkers I worked with played more than they worked, causing my job to be much tougher. I was there to work, and that’s exactly what I did, but I had no management to back me up. When I would head to the kitchen area from the class area to get my food and stuff sometimes there be six people lined up in the hallway, not allowing me to get by if I did, I had to squeeze by rubbing my body up against the wall one day because I reported to management that I needed someone to say something to these girls so that they did their job not affecting mine. One of the managers stood outside of the closet. We’re all of the girls would sit inside of eating and talking and laughing, she stood there with me for about 20 minutes they never stopped, all I did was complain. I feel like I had every right to. Finally, because nobody would ever do anything about my problems I raise my voice to my coworkers, because he was nowhere to be found when he was supposed to be working and I was having to do his job. I was heard by someone in concierge’s and then fired the next for misconduct is not allowed unemployment. I loved my job I love the Boeing people, but the Aramark group I won’t even say. anybody that stood up for themselves for things that were going wrong there and was considered to be a troublemaker was fired from there all of which were white

I have been there several times in the 2000's and thoroughly enjoyed the activities as well as the speakers they brought in. And then there was the "Afterburner"!! I extracted knowledge and experiences from these visits. I don't allow to get brainwashed or subversively being indoctrinated / manipulated...

The Aramark management Team was utterly inept and immoral. Losers of the highest degree

Boeing has no idea how bad the newest Aramark management team they have there is and the unethical things they have allowed. Moral was at an all time low and it was obvious to the Boeing staff who came to train there.

It was a cult. They talk about diversity, but they bring everyone there to make sure they think alike. I guess that is equality since it did not matter who you were, or race, or gender, as long as you think and act the same, its ok.

Teams are sent there to brainstorm ideas. It was not just a place for management, it was a place for leadership. The BLC hosted not only Boeing teams or managers but also other organizations. Everyone in their lives needs to have the respect and care that the center gave to so many.

For now it is temporarily closing and has been shut down for the most part since March - Aramark staff (they effectively run the place from housekeeping and dining to maintenance of the land and buildings) have largely already been on furlough and now are being laid off. Should reopen sometime next year depending on pandemic and probably depending on how desperate Boeing is to save money.

Closing the "leadership" center could be a positive. Boeing is always it's own worst enemy and has an extreme overabundance of managers (look at the org charts) that do not add value but rather add to chaos, conflict, and lack of cohesion to the detriment of any program.

CEO Calhoun is a student of RIP CEO Jack Welch (aka “Neutron Jack" of General Electric - GE).

Both were executive leaders at General Electric (which at one time was the world's largest company by Market Cap). Now GE's stock barely breaks $10/share and closer to a $5 dollar stock (so GE can be considered as a "PENNY STOCK" company).

Both GE & Boeing are similar in that their respective market shares of their products were diminished over time.

This was due to abhorrent executive management decisions, incorrect mid-level management execution plans, and the degradation of superior engineering knowledge and a highly-skilled labor forces.

GE extensively laid off high percentages of its own workforce in the past and to this day has never recovered or regain market share.

Boeing Brainwashing Camp.
I've worked with engineers who went into management, and got shipped off to that compound.
They're there for 2 weeks, no cell phones, no contact with the outside world.
They came back making jokes about there being d–gs in the food and all that.

They love to joke, but they're not the same when they get back.
Friendships they had with coworkers are -done-, that's not allowed at Boeing.
Socializing outside of work with coworkers -done-, that might be seen as favoritism.

They just become another braindead cog in the machine that could easily be replaced by sending us an email.

No need for any Leadership Center, as everyone is very well trained to effectively lead their respective departments and divisions into certain business failure. Congratulations!
