What’s sad is people keep saying they are definitely going to sell jenks....could they yes but then they would just end up spending more money having their locomotives rebuilt even they are admitting this now. The fact of the matter is jenks saves them money on rebuilds even if it’s just a small amount of difference, and the product they get is just about as effective as the work from the contractors and that is what they look at end of the day. Yes they want to get to being a we only pull freight and do minimal maintenance railroad but even they’ll begrudgingly admit this isn’t really a possibility because $hit breaks and someone is going to have to fix and maintain it. north platte can’t handle all that work no matter how much they say they can, and everyone at the company knows exactly what comes out of there once they “fix” it. Right now this company is focused on patch it together and ship it out eventually that will change its a matter of when. Jenks is and will always be a necessary evil
Just another yearly auction for the $uckers come to pay for $hit that has outlived its usefulness to the company. some of the stuff came from other locations like usual. the best thing on the block it the “brand spanking new never used “ water jet system. wonder how much money was wasted buying that only to never be used and auctioned off for a loss. if that doesn’t add to the list that makes you question the leaderships fitness to be in charge you must be as ignorant as they are.
With that being said North Platte still #1. No layoffs there and its time to start buying all my toys again. OT here i come.
With all the forces being done at Bailey, Gives Progressive time to take over Jenks. Morrel is the blueprint.
If your laid off from the closing of jenks please don’t sit around and wait for it to open back up.
I hope they're spending the time off learning to rebuild a main gen the right way. Having to go behind them and fix or pull the whole thing out again because it burned up is getting old.
Spoken like a true jenks employee that cant let go. Spare yourself the stress of holding on, jenks is history thats a fact.
So for all of you Rocket Scientist here, Jenks has annual and bi-annual auctions every year. They've been doing this for years now. It's only because the shop is shut down, that it's getting attention from all of the Trolls here.
Nothing to see and nothing to get excited about, nothing special folks. You see, Jenks employees works so hard, we run through and wear out equipment, that they buy us new stuff and sell off the old.
Now, y'all go back to work and concentrate on your efficiency.
All i know is their getting rid of things that are necessary to run the shop. Its over gentlemen pack your bags and relocate.
Jenks is staying open and wilbourn is coming back to run it. He’s got a PhD now from trump university and the doctor is gonna save Jenks.
Not saying they are giving away the store, nothing can surprise us now but they have a large auction in the lot at the front every year.
