Thread regarding Prudential layoffs

What was the point?

So Prudential issued a statement to clear out things surrounding fears of job losses in Pramerica and then proceeded to clear out absolutely nothing with vague statements that can be read either way. What in the world was even the point of this statement, then?

SLT are handling the communication side of things terribly, but are completely unaware and think that the communication went well. It did NOT go well. It was an absolute shambles. A lesson in how not to communicate to your staff. It has left everyone even more fearful. The amount of people who have since left is staggering. Nobody feels safe. Talent is leaving and what is left are the ones who simply wouldn't get a job anywhere else. If we are to be sold, our new owners will be left with a sub-optimal staff and will have no choice but to wind down operations in Letterkenny. The blame of this lies solely with the current SLT who, in their greed, have lined their own pockets the last number of years and have made Pramerica a financial burden on Prudential. We were set up to be a cost efficient services wing, and along the way we have morphed into a malignant tumour. For shame, Ciaran Harvey et al.
