20% budget cut for staff in R&D and test in one quarter at one site. 10-15 people gone at the very least by end of month. Contracted and not. More to come.

This kid has it figured out. HP has no idea what they are doing due to lack of leadership that has been prevalent for decades. Not one department gets things right. 😄

HP AQUIRED CPQ almost 20 years ago, and HP is now managing to take down both companies due to lack of managament skills prevelant everywhere and a weak corporate structure and insfrastructure. The whole company is a literal joke. HPQ stock is worth less than toilet paper.
Confirm not all layoffs were in print and not all at old CPQ sites. You old HP Alums don't have a handle on what is going on now. The company will die a slow death. Samsung purchase was another bad decision of many and situ getting worse by the day. Many really, really bad Managers...not leaders. No real leadership there.
Houston is a better city than most, but HP is a piece of c-ap company run by foreigners with a pathetic weak European mentality. The whole C-Suite is a joke.
If you worked at HP during this time you would know it was called a "merger" despite the legal mechanism. And then you proceed to affirm what I said.
Again, avoid a CPQ site if you can although many HP sites are disappearing. Does anyone move to Houston because they want to or only because they have to?
“Working at a pre-merger CPQ site is far worse than a pre-merge HP site.“
Let me educate you: HP did not merge with Compaq; HP ACQUIRED Compaq. Treating people as sub-par employees at former CPQ sites is because they are sub/par performers. That is why they were going belly up and were acquired by the more successfully managed HP.
A person's experience at either HPI or HPE depends on the site. Working at a pre-merger CPQ site is far worse than a pre-merge HP site. If you do get hired try to get to an pre-merger HP site. Totally different world. Trust me. CPQ sites are still CPQ in mindset.
The pay s—ed when I worked there back in 2004. We got paid $7 to start. There’s definitely a lot of favoritism and play for pay there. It really doesn’t matter who good you are, just depends on who you know. One thing about Hp employees, they stick together. So if you get in bad terms with one person you’re f—ed! Because you will be mistreated or denied raises and promotions like I was. Then u have to either quit or deal with all three shifts .
“The main purpose of "do not rehire" flags is to make sure your old managers cannot bring you back...”
This is 100% correct. It is to prevent them, via cronyism, from hiring useless people back into the organization.
The 24 month re-hire restriction exists because HP does not want you back.
The main purpose of "do not rehire" flags is to make sure your old managers cannot bring you back, no matter how much you're needed. They want to ensure that your replacement is hired off-shore for a fraction of what you were paid.
ASAP Checklist for people leaving HP ...before losing access to your employer's internal systems ...and in the following few weeks. https://www.hpalumni.org/asap
No team at HP is safe at this point! And especially if you're in Sales or Product Category, whether it be on the PC or Print side, you should be looking for another job outside of HP now.
I guarantee you that it’s all salespeople and people from the print group... _Guarantee it_
HP is using the WARN notice to abuse new IT hires by working them 60+ hrs a week with constant pressure and lay them off within a year or two after the project is completed.
No confirmation needed. It is public record and common knowledge that in 2018 HP announced a 5000-9000 headcount reduction by end of 2022.
So this is nothing new and is ongoing. Anyone acting surprised or caught off guard is asleep at the wheel.
I’m sorry to hear that you were laid off. Best of luck to you going forward.
The 24 month re-hire restriction exists because HP does not want you back. You are useless to them; that is why you’re getting laid off. They are hoping you will just take your “talents” somewhere else leave them alone.
I can confirm at least 1 layoff as I was advised yesterday... I was wfr'd. I was with print.
Can anyone confirm if there is truth to the layoffs rumor?
Another age purge.
Because HP really, really doesn't want you back once you have been let go.
There have been layoffs, but HP is telling their employees they can not re-apply for another position at HP for 24 months. Why are they doing this?
What’s your source on this?
Rumor has it Disney is purchasing HP
What is the point of this post? Do you know for a fact that there is going to be massive layoffs, or are you are just asking to be reassured that there will be not?
