Someone pointed out to me that I made a mistake in my below reply. My bad. I was wrong, I mixed the 2 stores up by mistake. But still, BBL is not closing. And Costa Mesa, which someone in another thread mentioned is closing,
https://leasespaces.jll.com/?propertyId=759544-lease
is actually not, since they're hiring a store manager. But sorry, again, about the mixup.
OK, I contacted the realtor on this site for Big Bear Lake Kmart:
https://leasespaces.jll.com/?propertyId=750744-lease
They wrote back to me that the store is NOT closing. They are merely leasing 4 stores in that shopping center adjacent to Kmart. From that site "Anchored by Kmart
Home to Big Bear Mountain Resorts with over 6,000,000 visitors per year
Four shop spaces totaling 5,805 SF in the adjacent building next to Kmart".
Further, that store is currently hiring a store manager:

For many years, he has been upfront about starving the stores, intent to continue closing stores and general disinterest in running a retail operation as a going concern, the exception maybe in keeping the dot com names running stocked with marketplace product.
Inventory early October and receiving Halloween/Xmas merchandise..... make if that what you will.....
So it's pretty much just like every other location. That's all folks.
@lie+16rdgEwh Yeah...no. Probably joking but in all truth, they haven't been getting a lot of stock since the beginning of the years. THEY STILL HAVE CHRISTMAS CLOTHES FROM LAST YEAR!!!
That must mean customers are buying merchandise faster than Kmart can get it ordered! Great News!
This all part of our big runaround plan to dominate retail... Just wait for it. #UnstopableKmartStrong
Use to work at this Kmart. Its getting more and more barren by the week. They keep promising new trucks but they just keep saying that to look like they are not dying, but they are. Since it is also a Seritage propriety that means its going to be sold off soon.
This is the only remaining Seritage-owned store still open in the continental US. (They also own two Kmarts and two Sears stores in Puerto Rico.)
