Great now I will be thinking about this when we are open Thanksgiving and packed with customers because other retailers had sense enough to close.

Schools and colleges are shutting down after a week of being open because of the spread. So I guess MACY’S thinks it won’t spread in crowded stores where they are not going to allow us to ask people to leave when we reach capacity. After all we are not allowed to ask them to leave for not wearing masks. So it will be on Macy’s when large amounts of store associates become infected and stores need to be closed down.
Thanksgiving shifts are voluntary. DO NOT PICK UP A SHIFT. DO NOT BE HARASSED INTO PICKING UP THANKSGIVING SHIFTS. NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO YOU IF YOU DON’T. Look back on all the years coworkers called out or didn’t show up, what happened. NOTHING. We have strength in numbers, start using it. Bad enough we have to do Black Friday crowds, have the decency to let us enjoy the entire thanksgiving day with our families. Because it may be our last time after we get sick from holiday crowds.
They Speak of integrity always they also say that they care about the health and safety of their employees the truth of the matter is they care about the bottom line and their dollar they should not open on thanksgiving if they care about their employees
Omni channel? We’ll be scheduled to address on-line orders?
We will be open on Thanksgiving. In store Door busters have been eliminated due to Covid-19. The Black Friday door buster specials have become ‘All day specials’ online and in-store and will start on the Black Friday Preview sale. No crowds!
So close Thanksgiving like decent humans since we will suffer Black Friday. But other retailers will be open That Friday unlike Thanksgiving. Where people will flock more so because there will be no place else to go and spread the virus. Yes there are those who don’t mind working Thanksgiving but that was before a highly contagious virus arrived. I’m not picking up a shift no matter how hard they try force me to like they do every year. Nope. And I can’t get in trouble for it.
Some states require capacity levels and should be enforced. So closedown your worthless company you retail money grubbing pieces of s__ __ __!
Stores are going to be packed Friday after Thanksgiving too, regardless of opening on Thursday. Probably worse if we don't open Thursday. And Friday is mandatory. So mull on that for a while. Makes no difference.
20+ years of working Thanksgiving night you get used to it
Im not partial to either way because its just been my life every year
We dont know how Wave 2 of covid is going to go, Flu season and covid? Sounds like a nightmare. Who even knows if we will be open, maybe another shutdown
Im taking things day by day since every hour the situation with the world and Macys seems to be changing.
Everyone should get together and boycott saying they’re not gonna work that day and let that scumbag CEO deal with it
Guys, we all KNOW there will be enough people willing to work that day regardless of the nay sayers. There always has been & there always will be....and yes, even THIS year. The stores will be open. Period.
Totally agree. It’s voluntary so if we all stick together and don’t pick up shifts like they force us to, that would send a message Of course the stores will be packed since the others will be closed. What will they do when half the employees become sick with Covid and will be out for weeks? Right before Christmas? They need to be thinking about this.
well , think about it... if everyone is closed and Macys is only open they get all the money... problem is you can have 200 people in a store... its will be a rona nightmare ! it will be unsafe for everyone.. all for a cheap buck.... if i worked that night ill just say no thanks.
