There's a lot of gossip of who in IT will laid off and when it'll happen. I think people are afraid to message on Skype with gossiping. It's like some directors know more than others about what is going to happen. I've heard there are layoffs coming but not when and I did hear a rumor it was supposed to happen before COVID-19 so that is accurate from the poster. I'm not sure about that September date and the 50 people part. Who the heck knows? Sh–ty all around to be lied to about things that will hurt our lives. Thoughts and prayers to all of you. That seems about right. HR is trying to do same across the company too.
So part of what they are doing is getting rid of people who actually perform well, are senior in experience but make too much money in their eyes. So if you are maxed out in your salary range, they are making you a potential target. Has nothing to do with Performance. They want to hire people for cheap, young kids out of college or little professional experience and then bring in Big 5 Consulting companies to pick up the slack. It really is age discrimination under the disguise of a company reorg.
