Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Is it true that no one is going back to sales office in Houston until there is a cure for COVID?

Why not? Nothing to sell and no one wants the GE c-ap. You can argue Baker Hughes tools but everyone knows working with Baker Hughes now your just dealing with GE trained dumb–ses. Plus all these layoffs, they only kept the cheapest on the payroll so you get to deal with inexperienced people also.

It is a bad thing if the sales guys is in the office.

Also has to do with the "safety record" - I understand that OSHA has made COVID-19 a reportable incident. If employees aren't in the office, it can't be reported against BH. When the safety record is bad, it gets used against the company by the customers when bidding on deals.

A sales guy in the office isn't doing anything he couldn't be doing in an airport terminal somewhere. If he's there, he isn't doing his real work.

Our HR director said they’re not going back this year.

I’m just home online 50/50 working or playing Fortnite

As soon as BH and other employers get legal cover for their employees contracting Covid on the job you will see returns to the office. If they do so now and someone (inevitably) catches it then BH is liable. BH doesn’t care about your health or your life; they care about paying out large sums of money in class action lawsuits.

Marathon recently ordered everyone back to the office in Houston and it’s going about as well as you would expect.
