Out with the old. In with the new. No literally. Another round of long serving good employees out the door while HR frantically combs the campuses and under 30 hangouts for new entry level hires once the dust settles on this latest group of casualties.

Allscripts client way to small for epic to waste time in grabbing... Epic not really interested in 1 to 5 dr practice or hospitals with 15 to 20 beds... The larger hospitals cut cord and sailed away...sometime ago.
Epic isn't touching any Allscripts castoffs.
Epic is already grabbing many of the unhappy Allscripts clients. It's sad to see them go but who can blame them.
It is not a rumor. India has taken over. Long time and older people are being replaced by clueless young people. It is hard to believe that ANY hospital or dr office would buy this EHR. PB and LK should be the first to be let go. They only know how to make STUPID decisions. Epic and Cerner, step in and grab their customers.
RE: 've seen ZERO evidence of Allscripts HR doing much of anything that requires actual work, let alone 'combing campuses and under 30 hangouts'. That's really a bit dramatic.
Sorry but is not dramatic at all. It was reality. The SW development group I was in at Allscripts was very aggressive in recruiting college seniors for internships to groom for potential hiring (if they worked out) and also recent computer science college grads. The SW development manager went to job fairs at local colleges to recruit CS seniors. The good ones was were invited to interview for internships and/or development positions in the group. Several interns and new college grads were hired.
It's sad to think Alsh _ ts puts India ahead of its own loyal employees who have been here through the ups and downs (there have been a lot of downs) and they don't even see that so much know-how and skill is headed out the door. That's why we're in the situation we are in.

Let's have some specifics. What locations, which teams?
I've seen ZERO evidence of Allscripts HR doing much of anything that requires actual work, let alone 'combing campuses and under 30 hangouts'. That's really a bit dramatic.
Unfortunately, hiring less experienced labor benefits corporations these days for the following reasons: 1) they can be paid a lot less, 2) they don't mind working extra hours, 3) they can be laid off with less impact to the company. This is particularly true in India. At least that's the perception Indians like to convey (usually nonsense).
But this is an American corporation issue, and has been for a good 15+ years, since Friedman published what has now become the executive bible 'The World Is Flat'.
Allsh_ _ s is famous for out with the US and in with India (aka Cheap labor)
Allscripts has a well-documented pattern of bailing on employees that are 'older', unless it's an executive licking PB and LKs sensitive regions.
No 'additional proof' required if you're paying attention.

Thanks for this update. Can you provide any hints as to your team and/or typical location of the people that were laid-off? It is a terrible feeling to lose your trusted co-workers due to no fault of their own. Wishing all of us the best of luck!

We lost two outstanding individuals whom where the most senior in our group. Both had over 30 years with the company. THIS IS NOT A RUMOR!!!
I understand we are mostly working remote these days and this type of activity is not nearly as visible to us like it would be if we were in the office; however, when lay-offs start occurring in mass, someone always spills the beans and you start getting IMs and text messages from everyone. That is not the case with this rumor. I am discounting this rumor until I can hear more concrete evidence as to teams, locations, and people that were impacted. It can be helpful to know about this type of activity but there is absolutely no need to post something like this without some facts behind it. Please don't waste our time posting false rumors. It accomplishes nothing.
I know of 8 individuals, many of whom were older and seasoned professionals who were laid off yesterday. They are in Sales operations and Support operations. I’m sure there are many others I’m unaware of thus far.
I also know of two recent college grads who were hired into the same titles as some who were laid off in April.
Corporate garbage as it’s finest.
I haven’t heard of a single person that was laid off. Can anyone provide some details? Typically the word spreads quickly.
